Punjab Food Authority Vehari Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar on Dehydration Prevention, Heat Stroke Management and Healthy Nutrition
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Nutrition Section conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Nutrition Assessment Camp at a madrasa to educate participants about dehydration, heat stroke prevention, and the importance of adopting a healthy diet during the summer season on 14-07-2026. A total of 40 participants attended the activity. The seminar highlighted the causes and risk factors of dehydration, appropriate dietary measures for maintaining hydration, and the role of balanced nutrition in promoting overall health and preventing heat-related illnesses. Participants were also introduced to the establishment and functions of the Punjab Food Authority and the importance of food safety practices from farm to fork.
The activity further covered major food and nutrition challenges, including hunger, malnutrition, food insecurity, stunting, wasting, and the consequences of overnutrition and undernutrition. Participants were educated on the importance of a healthy and balanced diet for disease prevention in both children and adults. The nutrition assessment camp provided participants with nutrition-related guidance, while an interactive question-and-answer session encouraged discussion and enhanced awareness of nutrition, food safety, and preventive health practices.
