Punjab Food Authority Dera Ghazi Khan Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Screening Camp on Women’s Health, Food Safety and Healthy Living

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Nutrition Section conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Nutrition Screening Camp at a government vocational training institute for women to promote women’s nutrition, food safety, and healthy lifestyle practices on 14-07-2026. Around 50 participants attended the activity, while approximately 20 individuals benefited from nutrition screening and dietary counseling services. The seminar highlighted the importance of women’s nutrition at different stages of life, iron deficiency anemia, calcium, vitamin D, and folate requirements, balanced diet planning, healthy eating habits, and the importance of breakfast. Participants were also educated about summer dehydration prevention, food hygiene, safe food handling, and proper food storage practices.

During the nutrition screening camp, basic nutritional assessments and one-on-one dietary counseling were provided to address participants’ nutritional concerns and promote healthier lifestyle choices. The session also emphasized the harmful effects of junk food, practical meal planning for women and families, and the important role women play in promoting healthy nutrition within their households and communities. The activity enhanced participants’ awareness and encouraged the adoption of balanced dietary habits for improved health and well-being.
