Punjab Food Authority Vehari Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar, Food Safety & Nutritional Screening Camp

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Nutrition Section and Training School Vehari conducted an Awareness Seminar and Camp at SIMTA Foods Industry, Vehari Industrial Area, to promote awareness regarding food safety, healthy nutrition, and lifestyle practices on 07-09-2026. A total of 20 participants attended the activity. The session aimed to enhance understanding of food safety practices and promote healthier dietary choices among participants.

During the activity, participants were sensitized about the role of PFA, food laws and regulations, food safety and hygiene from farm to consumer, food inspection, adulteration, food labeling, foodborne diseases, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). ELMS training and its importance for food businesses were also discussed. Nutrition education focused on balanced diet, disease prevention, common nutritional issues including iron-deficiency anemia, vitamin D deficiency and obesity, healthy eating habits, adequate hydration, and the harmful effects of junk and fast food. Nutritional screening and counselling were also provided, along with practical diet and physical activity guidance through a healthy lifestyle awareness booth.
