Punjab Food Authority Vehari Conducted Awareness Seminar and Camp on Food Safety, ELMS Training and Nutrition
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, and Deputy Director Operations District Vehari, Nutrition Section and the Training School conducted an Awareness Seminar and Camp at Imtiaz Super Mall, Vehari, focusing on food safety, ELMS training, and nutrition awareness on 18-09-2026. A total of 25 participants attended the activity. The session aimed to enhance awareness regarding food safety practices, healthy nutrition, and lifestyle modifications.
During the activity, participants were sensitized about the role of Punjab Food Authority, food laws and regulations, food safety and hygiene from farm to consumer, food inspection and monitoring, food adulteration, food labeling, foodborne diseases, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). ELMS training and its importance for food businesses were also discussed. Nutrition education focused on balanced diet, disease prevention, common nutritional issues including iron-deficiency anemia, vitamin D deficiency and obesity, healthy eating habits, and the harmful effects of junk and fast food. Participants were encouraged to rely on evidence-based nutrition information and adopt healthy lifestyle practices. A free screening and counselling camp, healthy lifestyle booth, practical diet tips, and physical activity guidance were also provided in the local language for better understanding.
