Punjab Food Authority TT Singh Conducted Awareness Seminar on Food Safety and Nutrition Management, TT Singh
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized an awareness seminar and counseling desk focusing on food safety, hygiene, and nutritional management was successfully conducted at Hussain College of Nursing and Health Sciences with the participation of 60 attendees. The session aimed to enhance awareness regarding food safety standards, healthy lifestyle practices, and nutritional requirements for young adult males and females. Participants were briefed on the introduction and role of Punjab Food Authority, along with essential food safety practices including personal hygiene, handwashing, cross-contamination prevention, food hazards, safe temperature zones, proper food handling, storage techniques, and the use of approved packaging materials.
The seminar also covered foodborne illnesses, food poisoning prevention, integrated pest management, and various types of food hazards including physical, chemical, biological, and allergen-related risks. Special emphasis was placed on the nutritional requirements of young adults, micronutrient deficiencies, healthy lifestyle choices, and the importance of nutrition management for long-term wellness. Participants were introduced to the nutritional clinic services, their queries were addressed during an interactive discussion session, and informational brochures were distributed to reinforce key learning points. The seminar received positive feedback, with participants appreciating the awareness efforts and valuable guidance provided.
