Punjab Food Authority Toba Tek Singh Conducted Food Safety and Nutrition Awareness Seminar on Healthy Eating and Lifestyle Wellness

 

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Nutrition Section conducted an awareness seminar and nutrition camp in collaboration with a women’s educational institute to promote food safety, dehydration prevention, healthy summer nutrition, and the nutritional requirements of young adult females. A total of 40 participants attended the session and received nutrition screening and counseling services on 07-07-2026. The seminar highlighted the role and functions of the Punjab Food Authority and covered key food safety principles, including personal hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, food hazards, safe temperature zones, and measures to prevent food poisoning. Participants were also educated about the causes, symptoms, risk factors, prevention, and management of dehydration, along with practical healthy hydration strategies for the summer season.

The session further emphasized the importance of balanced nutrition, healthy eating habits, and evidence-based dietary information in promoting long-term health and disease prevention. Awareness was provided regarding the harmful effects of excessive junk and fast food consumption, while practical guidance on healthy lifestyle practices, physical activity, and diet planning was shared through health promotion activities and a healthy lifestyle booth. Free nutrition screening and counseling services were offered, informational awareness flyers were distributed in the local language to improve understanding, and an interactive discussion encouraged participants to adopt healthier dietary and lifestyle choices.
