Punjab Food Authority Gujranwala Conducted Food Safety Seminar on Safe Food and Strong Nation
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Nutrition Section conducted an awareness seminar on “Safe Food, Strong Nation: Insights from Punjab Food Authority” in collaboration with a university to educate students about the role of the Punjab Food Authority in ensuring food safety and promoting public health. A total of 200 participants attended the session on 07-07-2026. The seminar highlighted the establishment, vision, mission, and organizational structure of the Punjab Food Authority, along with the functions of its various wings. Participants were also introduced to key food safety principles from farm to fork, major food safety challenges, and the Authority’s contribution to strengthening food safety standards across the province.
The session further covered important public health initiatives, including efforts to address hunger and malnutrition, business facilitation services, milk traceability, mobile food laboratory services, and the Punjab Food Authority helpline. Participants were encouraged to play an active role in promoting food safety awareness and adopting responsible food practices. An interactive question-and-answer session was conducted to enhance participants’ understanding, and the university management appreciated the efforts of the Punjab Food Authority in promoting food safety and nutrition awareness among students.
