Punjab Food Authority Toba Tek Sing Conducted Awareness Seminar on Anaemia and Hormonal Health in Young Girls
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized an awareness seminar and nutrition camp on Anaemia and Hormonal Imbalance in Young Girls was conducted at Government Girls School Number 1 Toba Tek Singh to educate adolescent girls about the importance of nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices during a critical stage of growth and development on 06-05-2026 . The session introduced participants to the role and working framework of Punjab Food Authority and highlighted the increasing nutritional needs of girls aged 14–15 years. Discussions focused on iron deficiency anemia, low hemoglobin levels, and the impact of hormonal imbalance on physical growth, emotional well-being, and overall health.
The seminar emphasized the importance of balanced diets including whole grains, pulses, milk, eggs, fruits, and vegetables to support healthy growth and hormonal balance. Participants were encouraged to limit ultra-processed foods, sugary drinks, and fast food while adopting healthy snacking habits, portion control, and regular physical activity. Special focus was placed on maintaining proper hydration through increased water intake and reducing soft drink consumption. The session also highlighted the strong connection between nutrition and mental health, including mood and academic performance, along with the importance of food safety and hygiene practices to prevent infections and nutrient deficiencies.
