Punjab Food Authority Dera Ghazi khan Conducted Awareness Seminar on One Health and Nutrition for Healthy Communities
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized an awareness seminar on “One Health & Nutrition Awareness: Linking Animal Health, Food Safety & Human Well-being” was conducted at Government Girls High School No. 1 Dera Ghazi Khan in collaboration with Livestock & Dairy Development Department to promote awareness regarding the strong connection between animal health, food safety, and human well-being on 05-05-2026. The session educated approximately 280 participants on the role of Punjab Food Authority, its regulatory functions, and the importance of adopting healthy dietary and hygiene practices for disease prevention and improved public health.
The seminar highlighted the concept of One Health by emphasizing the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health. Discussions focused on balanced diet, essential nutrients for growth and immunity, micronutrient deficiencies, and the importance of consuming milk, eggs, fruits, vegetables, and pulses as part of healthy eating habits. Participants were also guided on food safety measures, safe food handling practices, and the harmful effects of junk food and sugary drinks. A nutrition camp was organized alongside the seminar where dietary counseling, nutrition screening, and basic health assessments were provided to participants, while an interactive session addressed students’ queries regarding nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices.
