Punjab Food Authority Pakpattan Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar on Importance of Fruits and Vegetables (Eat Green Month), Pakpattan

 

Under the direction of the Director General of the Punjab Food Authority and the Deputy Director of the PFA Pakpattan, Punjab Food Authority Pakpattan organized an Awareness Seminar under the Eat Green Month initiative at Aspire College Pakpattan Campus on 29-1-2026. The seminar was conducted for the college community with the objective of highlighting the importance of fruits and vegetables in daily life and their positive impact on overall health. A total of 130 participants attended the session, and nutrition assessments were conducted for 50 individuals to address specific dietary concerns.

The purpose of the session was to create awareness about fruit and vegetable consumption patterns and their role in growth, development, and disease prevention, particularly during adolescence. Key topics discussed included the importance of fruits and vegetables during adolescence, nutritional requirements, the role of nutrition in physical growth and mental health, common nutritional deficiencies, healthy lifestyle choices and meal planning, prevention of diet-related diseases, healthy snacking habits, and the consequences of unhealthy eating patterns. The session encouraged students to adopt balanced diets and make informed food choices for long-term health benefits.
