Punjab Food Authority Pakpattan Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Screening Camp on Breastfeeding, Child Health, and Prevention of Nutritional Deficiencies

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, and Deputy Director Operations, Pakpattan, the Nutrition Section conducted an Awareness Seminar and Nutrition Screening Camp in collaboration with Aqsa Public School, Pakpattan, to promote the importance of breastfeeding, child health, balanced nutrition, and prevention of nutritional deficiencies on 06-08-2026. A total of 20 participants attended the activity, while 15 individuals benefited from screening and counseling services. The session highlighted the importance of breastfeeding for children’s health and development, the importance of a balanced diet, and the link between nutrition and disease prevention.

The seminar further addressed foodborne illnesses and food poisoning, common nutritional concerns among Pakistani women, including vitamin D deficiency and obesity, and the harmful effects of junk and fast food. Participants were encouraged to adopt healthy eating habits and rely on evidence-based nutrition information. Health promotion activities included free nutrition screening and counseling, distribution of awareness flyers in the local language, and a healthy lifestyle booth providing practical diet tips and physical activity guidance. The school management appreciated the efforts and work of the Punjab Food Authority in promoting nutrition awareness and healthy lifestyle practices.
