Punjab Food Authority Layyah Conducted Seminar on Healthy Eating Habits and Nutrition Awareness for Students, Layyah
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized an awareness seminar on healthy eating habits was conducted at The City School to educate students and staff about the importance of nutrition, food safety, and overall well-being. The session aimed to promote healthier lifestyle practices among approximately 60 students by highlighting the significance of a balanced diet in supporting physical growth, mental development, and long-term health. Participants were also introduced to the role of Punjab Food Authority in ensuring food safety and encouraging nutrition awareness in educational institutions.
The seminar covered key topics including food safety and hygiene, the importance of balanced diet and food groups, and the role of macro and micronutrients, their sources, benefits, and deficiencies. Discussions emphasized the importance of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, along with practical breakfast and lunchbox ideas for students. Special focus was given to avoiding junk and processed foods, maintaining proper hydration, and practicing personal hygiene as essential components of a healthy lifestyle. The session successfully encouraged students to adopt positive dietary habits and make informed choices for better health and well-being.
