Punjab Food Authority Khanewal Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar on Malnutrition, Stunting, Wasting and Balanced Diet
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Additional Director Operations and Deputy Director Operations PFA Khanewal, Nutrition Section conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar at Bright School, Khanewal, to create awareness about malnutrition, stunting, wasting, balanced diet, and healthy lifestyle practices on 22-09-2026. A total of 25 participants attended the seminar. The activity focused on improving understanding of healthy dietary practices, addressing common nutrition-related concerns, and encouraging participants to adopt healthier lifestyle habits for better overall health and well-being.
During the activity, participants were sensitized about major dietary needs, common nutritional deficiencies, healthy eating habits, hunger and malnutrition, food insecurity, and the consequences of over- and under-nutrition, particularly stunting and wasting. Participants were also briefed about the establishment and functions of Punjab Food Authority, key food safety practices from farm to fork, and the importance of a healthy balanced diet in disease prevention and control among adults and children. An interactive Q&A session was conducted at the end of the seminar to address participants’ queries and reinforce key nutrition and food safety messages.
