Punjab Food Authority Dera Ghazi Khan Conducted A Session On Empowering Adolescent Girls Through Nutrition & Health Education
Upon the directions of the Competent Authority, Nutrition Section PFA Dera Ghazi Khan conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Camp at Govt. Degree College Women (City), Dera Ghazi Khan, to promote awareness regarding nutrition, healthy dietary practices, food safety, and overall well-being among adolescent girls on 22-09-2026. Approximately 120 participants attended the seminar, while around 80 clients received nutritional services. The activity focused on improving awareness about the specific nutritional needs of adolescent girls and encouraging healthy dietary choices for proper growth and development.
During the activity, participants were sensitized about the importance of nutrition during adolescence, components of a balanced and healthy diet, iron-deficiency anemia and its prevention, and the importance of breakfast and regular healthy meals. Awareness was also provided regarding healthy eating habits, appropriate dietary choices, and the importance of food safety in maintaining good health. Informative brochures were distributed among participants to reinforce key nutrition and food safety messages and encourage the adoption of healthier dietary practices.
