Punjab Food Authority Khanewal Conducted Awareness Seminar on Dehydration Prevention, Food Safety and Healthy Nutrition
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized an awareness seminar was conducted for higher secondary students to educate them about dehydration, heat-related illnesses during summer, and the role of a balanced diet in maintaining good health. Participants were informed about the causes, symptoms, risk factors, and preventive measures for dehydration and heat stroke, along with the importance of adequate hydration and nutritious food choices. The session also highlighted healthy dietary practices for disease prevention and overall well-being among both children and adults.
The seminar further covered key topics related to food safety, including the journey of food from farm to fork, major food challenges, hunger, malnutrition, food insecurity, and practical approaches to addressing these issues. Participants were briefed on the role and functions of the Punjab Food Authority, the consequences of overnutrition and undernutrition, as well as concerns such as stunting and wasting. Information regarding school nutrition initiatives and the importance of adopting healthy eating habits was also shared. An interactive question-and-answer session was held at the conclusion of the event to reinforce learning and address participants’ queries.
