Punjab Food Authority DG Khan Conducted Training Session on Food Safety Standards and Sustainable Nutrition Practices

 

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized a training session was organized for Farmer Field School Facilitators to enhance awareness regarding food safety standards and the implementation of food safety regulations on 02-06-2026. Participants received comprehensive guidance on the role and functions of the Punjab Food Authority, Punjab Pure Food Regulations, food safety principles, food handling practices, food hygiene, food labeling requirements, and food business regulations. The session also highlighted the importance of medical screening in preventing food-borne diseases and ensuring public health protection.

The training further focused on nutrition-related initiatives, including the strategic framework for reducing malnutrition through efficient and sustainable agri food systems. Participants were briefed on key nutritional concepts, the importance of healthy food choices, and the role of home-state gardening in improving household nutrition. The interactive session provided valuable knowledge and practical insights to strengthen food safety compliance and promote healthier, more sustainable food systems within communities.
