Punjab Food Authority Khanewal conducted Awareness Seminar on Dehydration, Heat Stroke Prevention, and Healthy Nutrition
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Nutrition Section conducted a nutrition awareness seminar on “Dehydration and Heat Stroke Issues in Summers and Their Control Through a Suitable Diet” at an educational institution to raise awareness among students about the health risks associated with extreme summer temperatures on 18-06-2026. A total of 70 participants attended the session. The seminar highlighted the causes and risk factors of dehydration, preventive measures, and the role of appropriate food choices in maintaining hydration and overall well-being. Participants were also informed about the establishment and functions of the Punjab Food Authority and the importance of food safety practices from farm to fork.
The seminar further addressed key nutritional challenges, including hunger, malnutrition, food insecurity, stunting, and wasting, along with strategies to overcome these issues. Awareness was provided regarding the consequences of overnutrition and undernutrition, the significance of a healthy and balanced diet for disease prevention in both children and adults, and ongoing school nutrition initiatives. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, allowing participants to discuss their concerns and enhance their understanding of nutrition and health.
