Punjab Food Authority Khanewal Conducted Awareness Seminar on Anemia Prevention and Healthy Nutrition for School Girls
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized an awareness seminar on Anemia Causes in Young Girls and Its Control Through Suitable Diet was conducted at Bright Way School Khanewal (Girls Section) to educate students about the importance of nutrition in preventing anemia and promoting overall health on 11-05-2026. The session aimed to create awareness among school children regarding the causes, risk factors, and health impacts of anemia, while emphasizing the role of balanced nutrition in improving physical growth, energy levels, and academic performance. Participants were also introduced to the role and functions of Punjab Food Authority in promoting food safety and nutrition awareness.
The seminar covered key topics including causes and prevention of anemia, appropriate dietary measures for its control, food-related challenges, hunger and malnutrition, and food insecurity issues. Discussions also highlighted the consequences of both undernutrition and overnutrition, including stunting and wasting in children. Additional focus was placed on food safety principles from “Farm to Fork,” CM Punjab School Nutrition Programs, and the importance of healthy diets for disease prevention in both children and adults. An interactive question-and-answer session was also held at the end to address participants’ queries and strengthen their understanding of healthy dietary practices.
