Punjab Food Authority Gujranwala Conducted Seminar on Balanced Diet, Food Safety and Heat Stroke Awareness
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized an awareness seminar on Balanced Diet & Nutrition, Food Safety, and Heat Stroke was conducted at Gujranwala Institute of Medical and Emerging Sciences to educate students about healthy dietary practices, food safety, and preventive measures during extreme weather conditions on 14-05-2026. The session aimed to create awareness among approximately 200 participants regarding the role and functions of Punjab Food Authority and its efforts in promoting nutrition awareness, public health, and safe food practices. Participants were also informed about key food safety principles based on the “Farm to Fork” concept and common nutrition challenges affecting health and well-being.
The seminar highlighted the importance of balanced diet, dietary management, and healthy lifestyle choices for improved physical and mental health. Discussions focused on achieving a sustainable healthy diet and lifestyle, maintaining proper hydration, and understanding the benefits of adequate water intake during hot weather conditions. Special emphasis was placed on heat stroke awareness and practical preventive measures to stay safe during extreme temperatures. Information regarding the CM Punjab School Nutrition Program and Punjab Food Authority helpline was also shared, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session to address participants’ concerns and reinforce key health messages.
