Punjab Food Authority Gujranwala Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Camp on Malnutrition and Balanced Diet
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, and Additional Director Operations GRW Division, Nutrition Section conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Camp at Government Mian Rehmat Ali Memorial Girls High School, Gujranwala, to promote awareness regarding nutrition, healthy dietary practices, and overall health and well-being on 24-09-2026. A total of 60 participants attended the seminar, while 10 clients received nutritional assessment and counselling services. The activity focused on improving students’ understanding of balanced nutrition and encouraging healthy dietary and lifestyle choices.
During the activity, participants were sensitized about the role of Punjab Food Authority in nutrition awareness, major dietary needs, macro- and micronutrients, hunger and malnutrition, and the consequences of over- and under-nutrition, including stunting and wasting. Awareness was also provided regarding the importance of breakfast and regular healthy meals, healthy dietary choices, the harmful effects of junk food, adequate hydration, and prevention of overweight and obesity through healthy lifestyle practices. Practical guidance on affordable and nutritious food choices was also shared. An interactive Q&A session was conducted at the end of the seminar to address participants’ queries and reinforce key nutrition messages.
