Punjab Food Authority Dera Ghazi Khan Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Screening Camp on Weight Management and Healthy Lifestyle

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Nutrition Section conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Nutrition Screening Camp in collaboration with a teaching hospital at a children’s welfare home to educate participants about the relationship between nutrition, psychological factors, and effective weight management. Around 90 participants attended the activity, while approximately 60 individuals received nutrition screening and counseling services. The seminar highlighted the role of balanced nutrition in maintaining a healthy body, the influence of essential nutrients on mood and appetite, and the impact of psychological factors and eating behaviors on weight management. Participants were also educated about healthy food choices, portion control, and the importance of regular physical activity in achieving long-term health.

The session further emphasized mindful eating, stress management, adequate sleep, proper hydration, and self-monitoring as key components of healthy weight management and overall well-being. During the nutrition screening camp, participants received individualized nutrition guidance and counseling to support healthier dietary and lifestyle practices. The activity enhanced awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition and encouraged participants to adopt sustainable habits for improved physical and mental health.
