Punjab Food Authority Dera Ghazi Khan Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Camp on Healthy Eating Habits in School-Going Children
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, and Deputy Director Operations Dera Ghazi Khan, Nutrition Section organized a Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Camp at The Aspire School, Dera Ghazi Khan, under the Healthy Kids Campaign on 10-09-2026. The activity aimed to educate school-going children about healthy eating habits and promote overall health and well-being. Approximately 400 participants attended the seminar, while around 40 students received nutritional services.
During the activity, participants were sensitized about the importance of a balanced diet, food groups, macro- and micronutrients, and their sources and health benefits. Awareness was also provided regarding the importance of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, healthy breakfast, and nutritious lunch-box choices. The differences between junk food and homemade food were discussed, along with practical healthy lunch-box ideas and recipes. Informative brochures were distributed among participants to reinforce key nutrition messages and encourage healthier eating habits.
