Punjab Food Authority Cracks Down on Expired Food Items in Lahore
Lahore: The Punjab Food Authority continues its efforts to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public.
Under the supervision of Director General Punjab Food Authority Raja Mansoor Ahmed, a Food Safety Team conducted a raid at a store warehouse located in Attari, Nishter Town, Lahore.
During the operation, the team recovered a large consignment of 5 tonnes of expired food items worth Rs. 20 million from the warehouse.
Taking strict action against violations of food safety laws, the Punjab Food Authority imposed a heavy fine on the responsible persons and sealed the warehouse.
The Punjab Food Authority has reiterated that strict action will continue against businesses involved in storing, selling, or supplying expired and unsafe food items to safeguard public health.
