Punjab Food Authority Vehari Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar on Adolescent Girls’ Nutrition, Dietary Needs, and Healthy Eating
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority and Deputy Director PFA Vehari, Nutrition Section conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminars at Quaid Public High School and Decent Public High School, Vehari, as part of Adolescent Girls Awareness Month on 25-08-2026. A total of 100 participants, including girls and boys, attended the sessions. The seminars focused on major dietary needs during adolescence, common nutritional deficiencies among girls, and the importance of adopting healthy eating habits. Participants were also introduced to the establishment and functions of the Punjab Food Authority and key food safety principles from farm to fork.
The sessions further addressed major food and nutrition challenges, including hunger, malnutrition, food insecurity, stunting, wasting, and the consequences of overnutrition and undernutrition. Participants were educated about the importance of a healthy and balanced diet in disease prevention and control among both adults and children. An interactive question-and-answer session was conducted at the end of the seminars to enhance participants’ understanding and encourage healthier dietary and lifestyle practices.
