Punjab Food Authority Training School, Toba Tek Singh, successfully organized a comprehensive ELMS Training session for the staff of the Police Department at Police Lines, Toba Tek Singh. The session focused on enhancing knowledge of food safety, good hygiene practices, and nutrition for physical and mental well-being. A total of 35 participants attended the training, which covered essential topics such as food safety and hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, food hazards, safe temperature zones, handling and storage practices, banned packaging materials, foodborne illnesses, and integrated pest management. Participants were also introduced to the Punjab Food Authority and its commitment to ensuring safe and healthy food practices.
The training further emphasized the role of nutrition in professional well-being, highlighting the importance of nutrient-dense foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, B-vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants for brain function. Nutrition experts guided participants on developing balanced meal plans, integrating nutrition into rehabilitation programs, and understanding the link between diet and both physical and mental health. Queries from participants were addressed thoroughly and the session concluded with positive feedback, as all attendees appreciated Punjab Food Authority’s efforts in promoting a culture of food safety, hygiene and nutrition awareness within the police department.
