Upon the directions of the Worthy Director General Punjab Food Authority, the Nutrition Section, PFA Dera Ghazi Khan organized an Awareness Seminar in connection with World Food Day at Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan. The event brought together approximately 320 participants, including students, faculty members and representatives from the food industry. In collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organisation, Tahafuz Oil & Ghee Industry and Ghazi University’s Department of Agricultural Engineering and Food Science, the seminar aimed to raise awareness about the importance of safe, nutritious and sustainable food for all. Around 80 informational brochures were distributed among attendees to promote public education on food safety and healthy nutrition.
The event featured engaging activities including presentations, innovative recipe competitions, painting and sketching contests, content writing competitions and food stalls highlighting creative and healthy food ideas. Key discussions focused on the theme of World Food Day, the role of Punjab Food Authority, the consequences of malnutrition and the Chief Minister’s “Healthy Kids, Healthy Punjab” campaign. The session concluded with a call to action for ensuring food safety and nutrition awareness at all community levels. Outstanding students were awarded shields and certificates in recognition of their efforts and creativity.
