Major Food Safety Operation in Multan: Rs. 3 Million Fines Imposed, 1,500 KG Substandard Food Discarded

MULTAN: Under the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Salma Butt and Director General Punjab Food Authority Raja Mansoor Ahmad led a major food safety operation in Multan.

During the operation, two renowned restaurants and a bakery production unit were inspected, resulting in Rs. 1 million fine imposed on each food business. A total of 1,500 kg of substandard food items was discarded, while the inspected units were closed until necessary corrective measures and improvements are completed.

The Punjab Food Authority reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public health by ensuring the availability of safe, hygienic and quality food across Punjab. Strict action will continue against food businesses found violating food safety laws and standards.
