Punjab Food Authority Training School Chiniot and Directorate of Hajj Conducted a Training Session on Nutrition Guidelines for Hajj Pilgrims

Upon the directions of Director General of the Punjab Food Authority and the Deputy Director Operations Chiniot, in collaboration with the Directorate of Hajj, Punjab Food Authority Chiniot conducted a training session on 04-02-2026 at Govt. Islamia Degree College Chiniot for nutrition guidelines, preventative measures, and other health-related issues that Hajj pilgrims may face.
The purpose of this training was to guide pilgrims on health issues during Hajj and how to maintain their physical well-being. The following key points were discussed in the presentation:
- Introduction to the PFA nutrition clinic
- Mandatory nutrition guidelines & preventative measures for Hajj pilgrims
- How to achieve a sustainable healthy diet and lifestyle during Hajj
- How to prevent dehydration
- How to prevent heat stroke
- Importance of a fiber-rich diet
- Preference for vegetables
- Avoidance of fried and oily foods
- Maintaining personal hygiene
- Food- and water-borne diseases
- Nutrition guidelines for different conditions such as hypertension, constipation, diabetes, IBS, etc.
- Avoidance of carbonated beverages and energy drinks
- Proper use of medicine along with a balanced diet plan
- Importance of not skipping major meals
A Q&A session was held at the end of the training.
