Upon the directions of Director General of the Punjab Food Authority and the Deputy Director Operations Chiniot, in collaboration with the Directorate of Hajj, Punjab Food Authority Chiniot conducted a training session on 04-02-2026 at Govt. Islamia Degree College Chiniot for nutrition guidelines, preventative measures, and other health-related issues that Hajj pilgrims may face.

The purpose of this training was to guide pilgrims on health issues during Hajj and how to maintain their physical well-being. The following key points were discussed in the presentation:

  • Introduction to the PFA nutrition clinic
  • Mandatory nutrition guidelines & preventative measures for Hajj pilgrims
  • How to achieve a sustainable healthy diet and lifestyle during Hajj
  • How to prevent dehydration
  • How to prevent heat stroke
  • Importance of a fiber-rich diet
  • Preference for vegetables
  • Avoidance of fried and oily foods
  • Maintaining personal hygiene
  • Food- and water-borne diseases
  • Nutrition guidelines for different conditions such as hypertension, constipation, diabetes, IBS, etc.
  • Avoidance of carbonated beverages and energy drinks
  • Proper use of medicine along with a balanced diet plan
  • Importance of not skipping major meals

A Q&A session was held at the end of the training.
