Punjab Food Authority Toba Tek Singh Conducted Seminar on Anaemia, Hormonal Balance and Food Safety Awareness for Young Women

 

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized an awareness seminar and training camp on Anaemia, Hormonal Imbalance in Young Adulthood Girls, and Food Safety was conducted at National College for Women Toba Tek Singh to educate young females about the importance of nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices on 12-05-2026 . The session aimed to enhance awareness among approximately 50 participants regarding iron deficiency anemia, low hemoglobin levels, and hormonal imbalance caused by unhealthy lifestyles. Participants were also introduced to the role and working framework of Punjab Food Authority in promoting food safety, nutrition awareness, and public health education.

The seminar highlighted the importance of balanced diets including whole grains, pulses, milk, eggs, fruits, and vegetables to support physical health, hormonal balance, and mental well-being. Discussions focused on limiting ultra-processed foods, sugary drinks, and fast food, while encouraging regular physical activity, proper hydration, portion control, and healthy snacking habits. Special emphasis was placed on the strong link between nutrition and mental health, including mood and academic performance, as well as food safety and hygiene practices to prevent infections and nutrient loss. The session also included practical nutrition assessment and awareness on adopting sustainable healthy lifestyle choices.
