Punjab Food Authority Toba Tek Singh Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar on Food Safety, ELMS Training, and Healthy Lifestyle Changes for Adolescent Girls
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority and Deputy Director Operations, District Toba Tek Singh, Training School and Nutrition Section welcomed Nutrition Interns from Al-Khidmat Hospital, Toba Tek Singh, for an awareness seminar on food safety, ELMS training, and healthy lifestyle changes for adolescent girls on 20-08-2026. A total of 15 participants attended the session. Participants were introduced to the Punjab Food Authority and its role in ensuring food safety, including food laws, regulations, standards, food inspection and monitoring procedures, and food safety and hygiene practices from farm to consumer.
The session further covered food adulteration and common adulteration practices, food labeling and nutritional information, foodborne diseases and their prevention, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and the importance of ELMS for food businesses. Participants were also introduced to the Punjab Food Authority Nutritional Clinic and discussed career and professional learning opportunities for nutrition students. Practical exposure was provided to connect academic nutrition knowledge with field-level food safety work, while healthy lifestyle changes for adolescent health were also highlighted. An interactive question-and-answer session was conducted, followed by concluding remarks and a group photo to mark the educational visit.
