Punjab Food Authority Toba Tek Singh conducted Awareness Seminar on Food Safety, Dehydration Prevention, and Healthy Nutrition for Teenage Girls
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Nutrition Section conducted an awareness seminar and camp in collaboration with a vocational training institute on 22-06-2026 for women to promote food safety, dehydration prevention, healthy summer diets, and the nutritional requirements of teenage girls. A total of 50 participants attended the session and benefited from awareness activities and counseling services. The seminar highlighted the importance of food safety and hygiene, personal hygiene practices, food handling and storage, prevention of cross-contamination, foodborne illnesses, pest management, and awareness regarding different types of food hazards. Participants were also introduced to the role and functions of the Punjab Food Authority.
The session emphasized the importance of a balanced diet, adequate hydration, and healthy lifestyle choices for disease prevention and overall well-being. Awareness was provided regarding common nutritional challenges in Pakistan, including iron deficiency anemia, vitamin D deficiency, and obesity, along with practical strategies to address these issues. Participants were encouraged to adopt healthy eating habits, limit the consumption of junk and fast food, and rely on evidence-based nutrition information. Health promotion activities, free nutritional screening and counseling, distribution of awareness materials, and healthy lifestyle guidance were also conducted to support informed dietary choices and long-term health.
