Punjab Food Authority Toba Tek Singh Conducted Awareness Seminar and Camp on Food Safety, ELMS Training and Adolescent Girls’ Nutrition

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Training School and Nutrition Section conducted an Awareness Seminar and Camp on Food Safety, ELMS Training, and Adolescent Girls’ Nutrition Campaign 07-09-2026. A total of 60 participants attended the activity. The session aimed to promote awareness regarding food safety, healthy nutrition, and lifestyle practices among adolescents.

During the activity, participants were sensitized about the role of PFA, food laws and regulations, food safety and hygiene from farm to consumer, food inspection, adulteration, labeling, foodborne diseases, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). ELMS training and its importance for food businesses were also discussed. Nutrition education focused on balanced diet, disease prevention, common nutritional issues including iron-deficiency anemia, vitamin D deficiency and obesity, healthy eating habits, and the harmful effects of junk and fast food. Participants were encouraged to rely on evidence-based nutrition information and adopt healthy lifestyle practices. Awareness flyers and dietary guidance were also provided to reinforce key food safety and nutrition messages.
