Punjab Food Authority Gujranwala Conducted Awareness Seminar and Healthy Diet Activity on Malnutrition and Balanced Diet at United Chartered School

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority and Additional Director Operations GRW Division, Nutrition Section conducted a seminar and healthy diet awareness activity at United Chartered School, Sialkot Road, Gujranwala, to promote awareness regarding nutrition, healthy dietary practices, and overall health and well-being among students on 30-09-2026. A total of 120 participants attended the activity, while 80 students actively participated in the activity. The session focused on the introduction and role of Punjab Food Authority in nutrition awareness, the importance of nutrition and major dietary needs, macro and micronutrients, hunger and malnutrition, and the consequences of overnutrition and undernutrition, including stunting and wasting.

During the activity, participants were sensitized about the importance of breakfast and regular healthy meals, healthy dietary choices, harmful effects of junk food, adequate hydration, and prevention of overweight and obesity through healthy lifestyle choices. Practical guidance was also provided regarding affordable and nutritious food choices to encourage healthier eating habits among students. An interactive Q&A session was conducted at the end of the seminar to address participants’ queries and reinforce key nutrition messages.
