Punjab Food Authority Gujarat Conducted Awareness Seminar on Heatstroke Prevention and Summer Hydration, Gujarat
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized a nutrition awareness seminar was organized at a school in Gujrat to educate participants about heatstroke prevention, dehydration risks, and the importance of proper hydration during the summer season on 19-05-2026. The session focused on understanding the causes and prevention of dehydration, along with the harmful effects of excessive caffeine and sugary drinks on the body’s hydration balance. Participants were guided on maintaining healthy hydration habits and the role of essential nutrients in supporting overall physical and mental well-being during hot weather.
The seminar also highlighted the nutritional requirements of different age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition for growth, energy, and disease prevention. Discussions covered the risks associated with poor hydration and unhealthy diets, such as fatigue, dizziness, heatstroke, reduced concentration, and chronic health issues. The session aimed to encourage healthy lifestyle choices and raise awareness about adopting proper dietary habits to stay healthy and active during extreme summer conditions.
