Punjab Food Authority Dera Ghazi Khan Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Health & Dietary Screening Camp at Meezan School
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, and Deputy Director Operations, DG Khan, Nutrition Section organized a nutrition awareness seminar and screening camp at Meezan School, Dera Ghazi Khan on 28-10-2026. Approximately 600 students participated in the activity, which aimed to promote healthy dietary practices, assess the nutritional status of children, and improve awareness about balanced nutrition and overall well-being. A total of 100 nutrition awareness brochures were also distributed among the participants.
During the activity, interactive health and dietary screening of children was conducted to assess their nutritional status and dietary patterns, followed by nutritional counselling and guidance on healthy eating habits and the importance of nutrient-dense foods. Participants were educated about balanced diets, essential vitamins and minerals, healthy food choices, and proper hygiene practices through a child-friendly awareness session. Practical guidance was also provided on preparing healthy lunchboxes and replacing unhealthy processed foods with nutritious alternatives. Educational brochures were distributed to reinforce key messages and encourage healthy dietary and lifestyle practices among schoolchildren.
