Punjab Food Authority conducted World Food Day Awareness Seminar World Food Day 2026 Seminar at IITECH Gujranwala — “Innovate Today, Nourish Tomorrow”
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, and Additional Director Operations, Gujranwala Division, Nutrition Section, Punjab Food Authority, organized a World Food Day 2026 seminar on 16-10-2026 in collaboration with the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics (HND), IITECH Gujranwala. Conducted under the theme “Innovate Today, Nourish Tomorrow,” the event aimed to highlight the importance of food security, sustainable food systems, healthy dietary practices, and access to safe and nutritious food. The seminar brought together students and faculty members to promote nutrition awareness and encourage collective efforts towards building a healthier society.
Participants were sensitized about balanced nutrition, food safety, healthy eating habits, and sustainable food practices. Various food stalls were arranged, and PFA representatives evaluated the food items based on their nutritional value, quality, and healthfulness. A quiz competition was also organized among nutrition students to enhance their knowledge and understanding of food and nutrition. These activities provided an engaging platform for learning, knowledge sharing, and promoting informed food choices, while reinforcing the importance of reducing food waste and supporting sustainable food systems in line with the objectives of World Food Day 2026.
