Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, and Deputy Director Operations, PFA Toba Tek Singh, the Punjab Food Authority organized a World Food Day Awareness Walk at the University of Kamalia on 16 October 2026 under the theme “Innovate Today, Nourish Tomorrow.” The event was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, Toba Tek Singh, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kamalia, the Additional Director (Operations), PFA Faisalabad Division, the Assistant Commissioner, Kamalia, university faculty members, the university’s DSA, a large number of students, and PFA field staff. The walk aimed to promote awareness of food safety, hygiene, food quality, and the adoption of safe food practices in daily life.
Participants were sensitized about the importance of food safety and nutrition, the prevention of food adulteration, and the role, mandate, and ongoing operations of the Punjab Food Authority in safeguarding public health. Students were also informed about the PFA toll-free helpline 1223 for reporting food safety-related complaints and seeking guidance. The activity reinforced the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring safe and nutritious food and promoting sustainable food practices in line with the objectives of World Food Day 2026.
