Punjab Food Authority Bahawalpur Conducted Food Safety Seminar on Women’s Health, Balanced Diet, and Healthy Living, DG Khan

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Nutrition Section conducted a Nutrition Assessment Camp and Awareness Seminar in collaboration with a welfare foundation at a shelter home to promote balanced nutrition, malnutrition prevention, and healthy hydration during the summer season on 09-07-2026. A total of 80 participants attended the activity. The seminar highlighted the importance of a balanced diet, food groups, the MyPlate concept, the causes and prevention of malnutrition, dehydration prevention, healthy food choices, safe food practices, and the role of regular physical activity in maintaining overall health. Participants also took part in an interactive activity that helped them identify healthy and unhealthy food choices and encouraged informed dietary decisions.

The activity further included nutrition assessment, counseling, and an interactive question-and-answer session to address participants’ nutritional concerns. To reinforce the practical application of healthy eating, a balanced meal consisting of chana chawal, seasonal mango, and lemon water was served, demonstrating the importance of consuming a balanced diet that provides energy, essential nutrients, and adequate hydration. The management of the shelter home and the collaborating organization appreciated the efforts of the Punjab Food Authority in promoting food safety, nutrition awareness, and healthy living among the residents.
