📢 Province-Wide Food Safety Inspections Continue Under the Leadership of DG PFA

Punjab Food Authority Strengthens Food Safety Enforcement Across Punjab

Under the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority (PFA), food safety teams continued enforcement operations across various districts of Punjab to ensure the availability of safe, hygienic, and quality food for the public.

During the ongoing operations, inspection teams carried out comprehensive checks of meat shops, dairy outlets, restaurants, bakeries, sweet shops, food production units, grocery stores, and food transportation vehicles. Businesses were inspected for compliance with the Punjab Food Authority Act and food safety regulations.

Large quantities of substandard, unhygienic, and unsafe meat were discarded on the spot to prevent its sale to consumers, while strict legal action was initiated against violators. Dairy Safety Teams also inspected milk shops and milk supply vehicles to curb milk adulteration and ensure that only safe and quality milk reaches consumers.

Food safety teams imposed heavy fines on businesses found violating hygiene standards, while warning notices and improvement instructions were issued where necessary. In cases of serious violations, legal proceedings were initiated in accordance with the law.

These enforcement activities were simultaneously conducted in multiple districts, reflecting the Punjab Food Authority’s commitment to strengthening food safety across the province. The Authority remains determined to eliminate unsafe food practices through regular inspections, effective monitoring, and strict enforcement.

The Punjab Food Authority urges all food business operators to comply with food safety standards and encourages citizens to report any food-related complaints through the PFA complaint channels.

Safe Food, Healthy Punjab.
