PFA Seizes 25,500 KG of Expired Tea Worth PKR 47 Million

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has taken strict action against the sale and storage of expired food products, reinforcing its commitment to protecting public health across Punjab.

During an inspection of a renowned brand’s warehouse near Basheer Chowk on Raiwind Road, PFA enforcement teams discovered and discarded 25,500 kilograms of expired tea with an estimated market value of PKR 47 million. The expired stock was immediately disposed of to prevent it from reaching consumers.

In addition to confiscating the expired products, the authority halted production operations at the facility and imposed a PKR 1 million fine for violations of food safety regulations.

The PFA reiterated that expired food has no place in Punjab and warned food manufacturers, distributors, and warehouse operators to strictly comply with food safety standards. The authority emphasized that regular inspections and enforcement actions will continue to ensure that only safe, quality food products reach consumers.

The operation reflects the Punjab Food Authority’s ongoing efforts to safeguard public health and maintain high food safety standards throughout the province.
