World Food Day 2025 Awareness Seminar, Punjab Food Authority Training School & Nutrition Section Pakpattan

Punjab Food Authority Training School and Nutrition Section Pakpattan successfully conducted an Awareness Seminar in collaboration with Ibadat International University Islamabad, Pakpattan Campus to commemorate World Food Day 2025 under the global theme “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future.” The session aimed to enhance food security and address hunger and malnutrition, particularly among children under five years of age. The event was attended by approximately 60 participants including students and faculty members. The seminar emphasized the importance of food safety, hygiene, balanced diets, and the role of the Punjab Food Authority in promoting public health through sustainable nutrition initiatives.

The interactive session covered key topics such as food insecurity, malnutrition in Pakistan, food safety hazards, cross-contamination prevention, safe food handling and storage, and the School Nutrition Program. Participants also learned about nutritional deficiencies common among youth such as iron, calcium, and vitamin D deficiencies their causes, symptoms, and food sources. The seminar concluded with an open Q&A session and the distribution of educational brochures. All participants appreciated the efforts of the Punjab Food Authority for promoting nutrition awareness and contributing toward a healthier, well-informed community.
