Punjab Food Authority Strengthens Food Safety Enforcement Across Punjab
In its ongoing mission to safeguard public health, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams conducted extensive inspections across multiple districts of Punjab, targeting meat shops, dairy outlets, food businesses, and food transportation vehicles.
🥩 Action Against Unsafe Meat
Food safety teams carried out rigorous inspections of meat shops to ensure compliance with hygiene and quality standards. During these operations, substandard, unhygienic, and unsafe meat was identified and immediately discarded to prevent its sale to consumers. Strict penalties were imposed on businesses found violating food safety regulations.
🥛 Continued Efforts Against Milk Adulteration
To curb milk adulteration and protect consumers, dairy safety teams inspected milk shops and milk delivery vehicles. Samples were checked and businesses were evaluated for compliance with prescribed quality standards, ensuring the availability of safe and wholesome milk for the public.
🍽️ Monitoring of Food Businesses
Food safety teams also conducted comprehensive inspections of numerous food points, including restaurants, bakeries, production units, and retail outlets. Several food businesses were penalized and legal actions were initiated against operators involved in serious violations of food safety laws and regulations.
✅ Commitment to Public Health
Punjab Food Authority remains committed to ensuring the provision of safe, healthy, and quality food to citizens. Such enforcement activities will continue across the province to eliminate unsafe food practices and strengthen consumer confidence in the food supply chain.
