Punjab Food Authority Vehari Conducted Awareness Seminar on Malnutrition, Stunting, Wasting and Balanced Diet at Oxford School

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority and Deputy Director Operations PFA Vehari, Nutrition Section conducted an awareness seminar at Oxford School, Vehari, to promote awareness regarding nutrition, healthy dietary practices, food safety, and overall health and well-being on 29-09-2026. A total of 45 participants attended the activity. The session focused on major dietary needs, common nutritional deficiencies, healthy eating habits, the establishment and functions of Punjab Food Authority, and key food safety practices from Farm to Fork. Participants were also sensitized about food challenges, hunger and malnutrition, and food insecurity.

During the seminar, awareness was provided regarding the consequences of overnutrition and undernutrition, particularly stunting and wasting, along with the importance of a healthy and balanced diet for disease prevention and better health among both adults and children. Practical guidance was provided to encourage healthy dietary choices and improved eating habits. An interactive Q&A session was conducted at the end of the seminar to address participants’ queries and reinforce key nutrition and food safety messages.
