Punjab Food Authority Pakpattan Conducted Nutrition Screening Camp and Awareness Seminar on Adolescent Girls’ Nutrition, Healthy Diet, and Overall Well-being
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority and Deputy Director Operations, Nutrition Section conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Nutrition Screening Camp at The Smart School, Pakpattan, as part of Adolescent Girls Awareness Month on 27-08-2026. Approximately 50 participants attended the activity, while 20 individuals benefited from nutrition assessment and counseling services. The session was delivered by Ghazala Shabir and focused on the importance of nutrition during adolescence, macro- and micronutrients, and the components of a balanced and healthy diet. Participants were also introduced to the Punjab Food Authority and its role in promoting nutrition awareness.
The seminar further highlighted iron-deficiency anemia and its prevention, the importance of folate, calcium, and vitamin D, and the role of proper nutrition in healthy growth and development during adolescence. Participants were encouraged to consume breakfast and regular healthy meals and adopt healthy eating habits and informed dietary choices. Individual nutrition assessment and counseling were provided to address dietary concerns and promote healthier lifestyle practices for improved overall well-being.
