Punjab Food Authority Pakpattan Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Assessment Camp on Adolescent Girls’ Nutrition
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, and Deputy Director Operations Pakpattan, Nutrition Section conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Assessment Camp at Abaid Ullah Group of Colleges, Girls Campus, Pakpattan, as part of Adolescent Girls Awareness Month on 09-09-2026. The activity aimed to promote awareness regarding nutrition, healthy dietary practices, and overall health and well-being among adolescent girls. Approximately 200 participants attended the seminar, while 75 individuals received nutritional assessment and counselling.
During the activity, participants were sensitized about the importance of nutrition during adolescence, macro- and micronutrients, components of a balanced diet, iron-deficiency anemia and its prevention, and the importance of folate, calcium, and vitamin D. Awareness was also provided regarding healthy growth and development, regular breakfast and healthy meals, healthy dietary choices, the harmful effects of junk food, and adequate hydration. Informative brochures were distributed among students to reinforce key nutrition messages and encourage healthier dietary practices.
