Punjab Food Authority Khanewal Conducted Dehydration Prevention, Heat Stroke Management and Healthy Nutrition

 

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized an awareness seminar was conducted for higher secondary students to educate them about dehydration, heat stroke, and the importance of maintaining a healthy diet during the summer season on 08-06-2026. The session focused on the causes and risk factors of dehydration, suitable dietary choices for maintaining hydration, and practical measures to prevent heat-related illnesses. Participants were also informed about the importance of adopting healthy eating habits to support overall health and disease prevention in both children and adults.

The seminar further covered the establishment and functions of the Punjab Food Authority, along with key food safety principles from farm to fork. Discussions highlighted major food challenges, including hunger, malnutrition, food insecurity, and strategies to address these issues effectively. Participants were also briefed on the consequences of overnutrition and undernutrition, the impact of stunting and wasting, and the significance of school nutrition initiatives in promoting healthier communities. An interactive question-and-answer session was held at the conclusion of the seminar to enhance understanding and address participants’ queries.
