Punjab Food Authority Gujranwala Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar on Adolescent Girls’ Nutrition and Well-being

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Additional Director Operations GRW Division, and under the supervision of Deputy Director, Nutrition Section conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar at Saint Mary’s Convent Girls High School, Munir Chowk, Gujranwala, as part of Adolescent Girls Awareness Month 04-09-2026. The seminar aimed to promote awareness regarding healthy nutrition, dietary practices, and overall health and well-being among adolescent girls. A total of 400 participants attended the seminar.

During the activity, participants were sensitized about the importance of nutrition during adolescence, macro- and micronutrients, prevention of iron-deficiency anemia, and the importance of folate, calcium, and vitamin D. Awareness was also provided regarding healthy breakfast and meal habits, harmful effects of junk food, adequate hydration, obesity prevention, and affordable nutritious food choices. The role of adolescent girls in promoting healthy nutrition practices within their families and communities was also highlighted. An interactive Q&A session was conducted at the end of the seminar to address participants’ queries and reinforce key nutrition messages.
