Punjab Food Authority DG Khan Conducted Nutritional Awareness Seminar on Healthy Eating Habits for Special Children, DG Khan
Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority organized a nutritional awareness seminar was organized at a government secondary school for visually impaired and slow learner children to promote healthy eating habits and special nutritional care for children with special needs on 19-05-2026. The session focused on the importance of a balanced diet in supporting the physical and mental growth of children, especially those requiring additional nutritional attention. Participants were educated about the benefits of including milk, fruits, vegetables, eggs, and healthy homemade foods in daily meals to improve overall health and well-being.
The seminar also provided guidance to teachers and caregivers regarding meal planning, hygiene practices, safe food consumption, and the importance of maintaining proper hydration and a healthy lifestyle among children. Awareness was created about limiting junk food, soft drinks, and excessive sweets, particularly during festive occasions, while encouraging moderation and healthier eating choices. An interactive nutrition guidance session further helped participants understand the role of proper nutrition in improving health, learning, and daily life activities.
