Punjab Food Authority Bahawalpur Conducted Nutrition Awareness Seminar on PCOS, Hormonal Health and Healthy Lifestyle, Bahawalpur

Upon the directions of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority, Nutrition Section conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar at a social welfare institution to educate women about PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), hormonal health, and the importance of balanced nutrition for disease prevention and overall well-being. Around 80 women participated in the session, while approximately 50 individuals received nutrition-related guidance on 18-07-2026. The seminar highlighted the role and functions of the Punjab Food Authority and focused on the signs, symptoms, early detection, and management of PCOS, along with evidence-based dietary and lifestyle interventions, seed cycling, appropriate supplementation, and the prevention of common nutrient deficiencies. Participants were also educated about the components of a balanced diet, healthy meal planning, and preparing affordable and nutritious meals.

The session further emphasized the harmful effects of junk and processed foods, summer dehydration prevention, and the importance of food hygiene and safe food handling practices. A therapeutic diet display for PCOS management was arranged to demonstrate practical, evidence-based dietary approaches and functional foods that support hormonal health. Nutrition awareness pamphlets on PCOS were distributed to reinforce key health messages, and participants were encouraged to adopt healthier eating habits and lifestyle practices to improve their long-term health and well-being.
