PFA organized a Nutrition Awareness and Screening camp in collaboration with SOS Children’s Village

The Punjab Food Authority’s Nutrition Section in Lahore recently organized a Nutrition Awareness and Screening camp in collaboration with SOS Children’s Village, Lahore, focusing on “Optimal Nutrition & Health” on January 9, 2024. The event comprised various activities, including a Nutrition Awareness Session, Anthropometric Measurement with Z-score evaluation, One-on-One counseling sessions, and the distribution of IEC materials, efforts were made to foster awareness and encourage healthier lifestyles among the participating children from SOS Children’s Village, Lahore. Following the assessments, it was observed that a significant portion of the 150+ children attended were found to be dehydrated. The camp aimed to address nutritional issues and provide guidance for improving the health of the participants. 1. Balanced Nutrition: Ensure a well-rounded diet that includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and dairy products to provide essential nutrients. 2. Adequate Hydration: Encourage regular water intake to maintain proper hydration levels, supporting overall health and well-being. 3. Limit Sugary and Processed Foods: Minimize the consumption of sugary snacks and processed foods, opting for nutrient-dense alternatives for better health. 4. Regular Meals: Promote consistent meal times to establish a routine and support proper digestion. 5. Incorporate Physical Activity: Emphasize the significance of regular physical activity to promote overall health and development.
